Imagine you could be driving a car just by thinking about it. Think left and it turns left. The project presented in the following video is in its early days, but it promises a lot.

For now this kind of technology allows paralysed people to move around freely in a virtual world. The technology uses brainwaves to control software and from software there is practically no limits … People whose body is disabled might soon easily drive cars, play online games, shop online or effectively control mechanical body parts like hands and legs.

We have found a series of crash tests of vehicles commonly used for driving or transportation of handicapped people. It’s the safety that really matters when buying a new converted van or minivan. We don’t want to induce any opinion so just see it for yourself.

Well, I don’t find this funny, but please explain it to me, what the FUCK is SOOOOO funny about people pretending to be on a wheelchair. I just think it’s unethical and only a complete idiot can make such movies about people on wheelchairs. And most of all I’m worried about the croud laughing at this weird shit. I don’t get it! Do you? (wheelchair etiquette)

Some great tips for disabled travelers

This video is featuring some great hints for traveling with a wheelchair:

1. Get Airport services guide for people with disabilities. Every airport has something. Some have a special lounge for the disabled, special parking lots and lower rates for everything.

2. Be there at least an hour before the flight. Check your luggage and then go directly to the gate.

3. Make sure to get a gate tag on your chair.

4. Go around the metal detector.

5. Make sure you don’t board after everybody else. Ask for a preeboard option.

6. If wheelchair car rental service is in the airport hall they bring your rented car or van directly to the airport. Otherwise you might have to take a train or a bus.

7. Have fun!

Vaneo is a mini van (people carrier) which is especially suitable for handicap conversion. With a nice shallow ramp, lowered floor this vehicle is a good choice also for those handicapped people whose legs need to be risen. The price of Mercedes Vaneo is not really low comparing to converted VW Caddy, Peugeot Partner, Citroen Berlingo, Fiat Multipla etc. But After all … This is a pure mercedes benz! Official website …

Quovis is a small wheelchair accessible van with a really nice slogan: “Drive it from your own wheelchair“.

I really like the idea of a small city out-from-a-wheelchair car

Quovis max speed: 35 miles per hour
Quovis fuel: Gasoline
Quovis colors: Six nice colors
Quovis comfort: Air conditioning and everything

In Europe the Quovis is recognised as a quadricycle and may be driven on any public street. But in the US it has to obey safety standards for Low Speed Vehicles (LSV). A low-speed vehicle may be operated only on streets where the posted speed limit is 35 miles per hour.

So. Will Quovis be a success? It is quite an expensive vehicle, but it’s worth it!
